Present Moment Enterprises

Privacy & Data Use

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Our approach. Our work helps communities and organizations decide how technology and data should be used. We apply the same questions to this website:

Who we are. Present Moment Enterprises, Inc. is a New York corporation and the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at hello@presentmoment.tech.

What we collect. If you email us at hello@presentmoment.tech, we receive your name, your email address, and whatever you write. Our web host records standard server logs, including your IP address (the number that identifies the device or network you're connecting from), your browser type, and the time of your request. Our public pages set no cookies of their own (a cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser) and run no analytics or advertising trackers. The page fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when you visit. The members-only affiliates area uses one cookie to keep members signed in.

Why we process it, and on what basis. We use what you send to answer your question and to keep a record of our correspondence. Our legal basis is legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR). Under that article, we may use personal data without asking for your consent when three things are true: we have a genuine reason to use it, using it is necessary for that reason, and your interests and rights do not outweigh it. Here, the reason is replying to you, because you contacted us and asked for a reply. Server logs are processed on the same basis, for security and to keep the site online.

Who else sees it. Google, which hosts our email under Google Workspace and serves the fonts this site uses. Render, which hosts this website. Each acts as a processor, meaning it handles data only on our instructions. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Embedded content. Some pages include content from other sites, such as a radio interview played through Mixcloud. That content does not load until you choose to play it. When you do, that site receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy.

Where your data is stored. This website and its server logs are hosted by Render in Ohio, in the United States. Our email is stored by Google in its data centers.

International transfers. We are based in the United States, and so are Google and Render. If you contact us from another country, your data is transferred to the US.

How long we keep it. Contact inquiries and the correspondence that follows: 24 months from our last exchange, unless the inquiry becomes a client engagement, in which case it follows that project's records. Server logs: 90 days.

Your rights. If you are in the UK, the EEA, or Switzerland, you can ask us for a copy of your data (Article 15), correct it (Article 16), delete it (Article 17), restrict how we use it (Article 18), receive it in a portable format (Article 20), and object to our processing it (Article 21), all under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, and under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. We make no automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you.

Email hello@presentmoment.tech and we'll respond within one month. If your request is complex, we may extend that by two more months and will tell you why within the first month.

You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. In Switzerland, it's the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner at edoeb.admin.ch. In the EEA, it's the data protection authority for your country.

Children. This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 through it. Our workshop programs involving children and families run under separate agreements with the schools and organizations that host them, and are not covered by this policy.

Changes. We'll post any change here with a new date at the top, and say so if the change is significant.
